Athletics? How can they glorify God? MEI added basketball in 1946 to its academic offerings to glorify God. The Apostle Paul uses athletic analogies to reminds us to train for a prize which is eternal, and athletics is a vehicle which can be used to challenge students to strive for their best, to go beyond what they thought was the limit, and yes, to have fun. The school has gone far beyond its initial offerings and has attained excellence in a number of sports while hanging BC Provincial Championship Banners on the gym wall in basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf. Meanwhile, individuals have won gold at the High School swimming and track and field championships. Our teams are often a first encounter for many with Mennonites, our court or field is our pulpit where our actions speak out our faith loudly and clearly to our community.
